A man has been jailed after he stole £600-worth of goods from a pub in Newcastle-under-Lyme. Joseph Robinson, 47, of Newcastle-under-Lyme, was sentenced to 24 weeks behind bars at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre yesterday (Wednesday 24 September) after he pleaded guilty to burglary other than dwelling – theft. At around 2am on Tuesday 2 September, Robinson broke into The Arnold Machin, Ironmarket, and stole around £600-worth of goods. PC Heather Bolam, of the Newcastle-under-Lyme local policing team, said: “Robinson caused damage and stole a significant amount of goods from a local business in the town, and I am pleased he has received a custodial sentence for his offending.” We're continuing to act proactively across Staffordshire to drive reductions in crime and to target those committing high harm offences in local communities.
